The Black Isle Approach

We recognise every client is different.  That is why we offer flexibility in our service.  However, the approach we take to working with clients follows a consistent pattern and can be summarised as a series of steps, pre-contract to establish if we can work together, and post contract as we establish and implement an agreed strategy.

Pre-contract

  1. Establish your needs and objectives – What do you want to achieve? What’s your timescale? Is outsourcing appropriate? Is Black Isle a good fit?  Is there the foundation of an effective working relationship?
  2. Due Diligence – We need to assess your offering. Is it consistent with your objectives?  Is it likely to find a market?  Is it sufficiently robust to stand up to institutional due diligence?  What are your strengths and weaknesses?  Do we believe in it?
  3. Contract – If you think Black Isle is right for you and we think we want to represent you, we’ll put an Introducer Agreement in place. This formalises our mutual commitment to the relationship and sets out our respective responsibilities.

Post-contract

  1. Training and Materials – We’ll need to understand your proposition in detail and get to know the team. We’ll listen to you present, review your materials and make suggestions for improvements.  We’ll work with you to develop the materials we need, and we’ll help you enhance your key messages.
  2. Establish Strategy – Simultaneously we’ll be discussing how we’ll go about meeting your objectives. What asset owners will find your proposition appealing and why? What market segments will we prioritise?  To what problem do you offer the solution?
  3. Execute – Then we execute the strategy. We’ll need your ongoing support, for example your commitment to meet with potential investors, to respond to queries or provide data.  But we’ll try to ensure the process is managed efficiently.
  4. Reporting and Evaluation – We’ll keep you appraised of what we do. Other than active opportunities, the primary focus of this communication will be on how your proposition is received. Who are we talking to?  What is the feedback from the market? What’s working and what’s not? Is our strategy correct? A dialogue on these matters will ensure our execution is as effective as possible and will maximise our chances of success.
